Trade-in FAQs

I'm buying my first snowboard - do I have to have one to trade-in to buy from ReRide?

Of course not. You can buy any of our boards in the normal way, just like any other shop.

I could get more for my board if I sold it on eBay - why should I bother trading in?

We offer several advantages over eBay:

-It's much less hassle if you trade in. You don't have to write a description, service your board to get a better price, take lots of pictures of it, decide on a starting price and the heaps of other options eBay gives you.

-There's no 5-7 day wait for an auction to finish  - and even then you may need to wait until you have the money  (after the buyer's paid and the payment's cleared) before you can think about buying a new one. With us, you'll get your new board and be rid of your old one within 2-3 days, if you post it straight back to us.

-Security. You won't have to deal with individuals trying to scam you. No strangers coming to your house to collect your board and pay cash. With us, there's one single secure credit card transaction and you're sorted.

-You won't have to find a massive long box to post something as big (and valuable) as a snowboard - a difficult task unless you know the guy that runs your local snowboard shop. We'll send you one of our bags, with our address ready-printed on it.

What happens if I've changed my mind and I don't send you my old board?

In this case, you have a couple of options:

If you tell us that you've changed your mind (say, after we've emailed you the discount code) then nothing will happen. Just don't use the discount code. If you do, then unless you send us your trade-in board within 14 days, you'll get a refund. Please don't use the discount code if you're not going to trade-in, it makes both of our lives more difficult (mainly yours, because we'll have your money for 14 days until it's refunded)

On the other hand, if you change your mind AFTER you've sent us your board, (or when we see your board, it's not as you described it) then we'll send your snowboard back to you and refund you your money, minus the postage cost to return your board. Alternatively, we can offer you a different price, (one that reflects the actual condition of the board) and you can pay the difference, before the trade-in continues as normal.

What if I don't want to buy a new board - will you buy my old one from me?

Not at present, but we may offer this service in the future. Check back soon.

Can I trade in an old board to get money off a used refurbished board?

No, the trade in offer is only available if you're buying a new board.

Can I trade in an old board to get money off bindings or other items from ReRide?

No, the trade in offer is only available if you are buying a brand new board. You may have other items in your shopping cart as well of course.

Buying FAQs

What is your returns policy?

You can find our returns policy, including the address to return items to, here

What makes your used refurbished snowboards better than buying from eBay?

Our used snowboards are all professionally serviced before they are sold. This means we: Repair any damage to the base; sharpen the edges; repair any chips to the top sheet; give them a wax; and any other work that needs doing. We aim to get old boards back to new condition. This is not something you can guarantee when buying a board from eBay.

All our used snowboards are listed with recommendations of what sort of snowboarder should buy them, detailed high-resolution pictures and an estimated 'life-span' of how many seasons you should be able to get out of it.

Unlike many eBay sellers, we have a returns policy - just like if you were buying a new board from us.

If we wouldn't ride it, we won't sell it. If a snowboard is not snow-worthy and has sustained damage that means it cannot be ridden, we won't sell it. You'll find plenty of eBay sellers who are trying to pull the wool over your eyes by selling boards that have been destroyed as 'lightly used' or 'as new'.

Can you get a particular make/model of snowboard for me?

Send us an email (info@reride.co.uk) or fill in our contact form and we'll see what we can do. We are aiming to increase the number of brands and models each season, so check back regularly.

Is your website secure? I'm concerned about entering my credit card details on a site I've never heard of before.

Our site uses the lates encryption from Comodo, our SSL certificate provider. You can verify this by clicking on the green padlock symbol in your browser's address bar (This will only appear on pages where you are giving us information, such as the Contact Form, or the Checkout Pages), or by clicking or hovering your mouse over the Comodo Secured logo at the top of our site. Our payments are processed by either PayPal or  RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) Worldpay, depending on what you select when you check out and you will be taken to their respective websites in order to enter your payment details, again you are able to verify their security by the green padlock and https (rather than http) in the address bar.

I have a voucher code, where do I enter it?

Once you have added the item to your shopping cart, click 'View Cart' in the top right of the screen and you can enter it at the bottom of that page, where it says 'Redeem a Discount Coupon". If, for whatever reason, it doesn't work, email or phone us (details here) and we'll sort it out for you.
